MY DAILY EMAIL SENT ON APRIL 21, 2022
Hello,

I've now been on the road for one full month. Weather was great again today for the 29th day in a row. I slept in very late today since there wasn't much on the schedule today. Since I left Las Vegas early I did half of what I was going to do today, yesterday. I finally hit the road at about 11:30. I hopped on Interstate 40 and drove 112 miles to Williams, Arizona. This is the tourist town from which the Grand Canyon Railroad departs. It's also on historic Route 66.

I stopped in the center of town and explored the area a bit. Below is an old-school gas station which is now a private museum with a selection of vintage vehicles.

Lots of shops with Route 66 memorabilia.

Below is looking down Route 66 in downtown Williams, Arizona.

There are two large forest fires near here. The Crooks Fire is about 70 miles south of here near Prescott and the Tunnel Fire is about 25 miles north of Flagstaff.

Next I hopped back on Interstate 40 and drove 35 miles to Flagstaff. Below is the historic flagstaff from which the city takes its name.

Below is a scenic overlook of the city of Flagstaff from Lowell Observatory.

Next it was on in to historic downtown Flagstaff. Below is the Coconino County Courthouse.

One block south of the courthouse I checked into the Hotel Monte Vista. You can actually also see my hotel in the scenic view picture above.

My room is the corner room (Clark Gable Room) in the center of the hotel on the top floor. I have a nice cozy room. This hotel is supposedly haunted. I have not seen any ghosts yet. We'll see what happens when I turn off the lights.

There's a video of Flagstaff and this hotel on my web site. In the picture below you can see me working on that video.

For dinner I had some pizza sent to the room from Lumberjack Pizza just down the street.

Below you can see the view from my 4th floor window just after sunset.

If I see any ghosts tonight I'll try to take a video of them.

Until tomorrow,

Tim
