Howdy Howdy,
Today's email is probably going to be pretty boring. I didn't even use the car. I spent the day wandering up and down the Strip. Below is a picture of the Eiffel Tower.
I did a little gambling throughout the day but did not win anything. I lost $120. Below is the Cosmopolitan Hotel. This resort opened on December 15, 2010, and is located just south of the Bellagio. The hotel was rated "The Best Hotel in the World" by Gogobot. In 2015, the resort was named to the Conde Nast Traveller Gold List as one of the "Top Hotels in the World".
In the picture below you can see Caesars Palace behind the Bellagio Hotel & Casino which is directly across Las Vegas Boulevard.
Below is the 3044 room Mirage which opened on November 22, 1989. It was the world's most expensive resort, completed at a cost of $630 million. It was also among the world's largest hotels. The Mirage was the first megaresort to open on the Las Vegas Strip, and its success prompted a building boom in the 1990s for other large resorts along the Strip.
When the High Roller opened at 2:00 I took a spin on what used to be the world's biggest observation wheel until the one in Dubai opened in 2020. Below is a picture of the High Roller at the end of the promenade. That's In-N-Out Burger on the right where I ate at again today.
I think this is my third observation wheel. I've also done the London Eye and the Singapore Flyer. Below is a picture of my hotel, The LINQ, as seen from my pod.
The wheel is 167.6 feet tall. Below is a picture when we were at the top.
It takes a half hour to make one complete rotation. In the picture below that's the Flamingo Hotel with the beautiful pool area. That's the Promenade running between the LINQ and the Flamingo.
After my rotation on the wheel I continued to wander around the Strip. Below is the Mirage Hotel.
Next door to the Mirage is Treasure Island.
Below is the Venetian.
And next door to the Venetian you come to the Palazzo.
I stopped in a grocery and bought some eggs so I could throw them at the establishment in the picture below.
I think the prettiest resort on the Strip is the Wynn/Encore.
Inside the casino is beautiful as well.
At sunset I watched the first volcano explosion of the evening at the Mirage Hotel. I don't have a photo, you'll have to watch the video on the web site. From there I went to the Bellagio to catch a fountain show or two. But to my disappointment they were cancelled due to high winds. Below is me waiting for the show that never happened.
I've decided to leave Las Vegas tomorrow instead of Thursday. If I stay I'll be tempted to gamble some more and I don't want to lose any more money. The photo below is a night shot as I was walking back to my hotel from Bellagio's.
While here in Las Vegas I got all of my meals from the In-N-Out Burger across from my hotel.
Below is my order: Double-Double and Fresh Cut French Fries.
Good night,
