Hello folks,
Today's port was St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands. This is the only port on the cruise that I have been to before. But it rained the last time I was here and today was a beautiful day. Of the Caribbean islands I have been to so far, I think this is the prettiest one. We docked this morning just a couple minutes past sunrise. Directly in front of us was the Regal Princess which is the newest Princess ship launched this summer. It is identical to the new Royal Princess that I sailed on in Europe in the summer of 2013.
Unlike the awful tour I took yesterday we stopped at many scenic spots here in St. Thomas today. Below is beautiful Magens Bay.
In the picture below you can see the capitol city of Charlotte Amalie and some of the many cruise ships in port today.
Below is a little closer look at Charlotte Amalie.
At the end of the tour we rode the Paradise Point cable-car. The skyride is located across the street from the cruise terminal.
Below is a nice look at the ship I am sailing on, the Ruby Princess. The Ruby is docked. That's the Norwegian Gem anchored in the bay.
We sailed away at 4:00 and we are now heading for Grand Turk, which is where we will be tomorrow. That's the Norwegian Getaway that sailed out just before us in the picture below.
As I am writing this it is just after 6:00 and I am looking out my window and the sun is setting. The Norwegian Getaway is still right beside us. Unfortunately that cloud blocked the sunset picture I was wanting.
Until tomorrow,
Tim
