APRIL 1986 We began this short vacation with a one night stay in Louisville, Kentucky. ![]() Pictured above is the Belle of Louisville, an authentic 1914 stern-wheel steamboat which offers scenic cruises of the Ohio River. ![]() Pictured above is the "White House," worldwide headquarters for Kentucky Fried Chicken. ![]() While still in Louisville, we also made a quick stop at Churchill Downs, the historic racetrack where the Kentucky Derby is ran. ![]() Starting our trek southward through Kentucky, we stopped at the Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historic Site. ![]() Next we passed through Nashville, Tennessee. Pictured above is the state capitol. ![]() We spent the night in Chattanooga, Tennessee. We spent the next morning touring Rock City. You can see seven states from its lofty perch. ![]() The above aerial view of Chattanooga was taken from the summit of Signal Mountain. ![]() After leaving Chattanooga it was into Alabama. Noccalula Falls plummets 95 feet from a limestone ledge in Gadsden, Alabama. ![]() We spent the night at the Westin Peachtree in Atlanta. This was the view out our hotel room window. This is the worlds tallest hotel. ![]() We started heading back north toward home. We stopped in Toccoa, Georgia to see the 186-foot high Toccoa Falls. ![]() We spent the final night of our trip at the Hyatt Regency in Knoxville, Tennessee.
