MONDAY, MARCH 28, 2022:

Today I drove 106.2 miles traveling from Fort Worth, Texas to Waco, Texas.

Video of Waco, Texas from today's travels.

I am spending the night at the Courtyard by Marriott in downtown Waco, Texas.

I have a standard room with one king bed.

MY DAILY EMAIL SENT ON MARCH 28, 2022
Hello everybody,

I had a fairly light day today. When I scheduled this trip I intentionally planned some short days, and today was one of them. I did this so I would have time today to catch up on stuff in the Dallas/Fort Worth area in case I wasn't able to get everything done yesterday due to weather or what ever. But since I didn't miss anything yesterday I was able to sleep in this morning in my very comfortable Fort Worth hotel. Below is a picture of sunrise today from my hotel window. Notice the crescent moon in the right corner.

I did finally hit the road around 10:30am. I only had about 95 miles to drive to Waco where I am spending the night. I checked into my Courtyard hotel in downtown Waco. After getting settled I set out to explore all those Waco hot spots. My first stop was at Cameron Park just west of the city. Below is a picture of the Brazos River from the park.

On my way back in to downtown Waco I passed this neat little vintage gas station.

This city has a population of about 125,000 people. Below is a picture looking up Austin Avenue from Heritage Square.

And the picture below is looking the other way to City Hall.

A couple blocks from here is the McLennan County Courthouse.

The building below is Waco's 22-story ALICO building. The city's only skyscraper.

I explored the Riverwalk, or what I could of it. There is construction everywhere in downtown Waco. Everything is torn up. You can see the Waco Suspension Bridge behind the trees.

I scootered across the Washington Avenue Bridge on the right. My hotel is on the other side of that bridge.

Below you can see the Washington Avenue Bridge crossing the Brazos River in downtown Waco.

It was another beautiful day. A little more chilly today as it only got into the mid 80s. I got my dinner from the Twisted Root Burger Company here in downtown Waco.

The sun has just set as I finish this email. I can see the ALICO sign lit up atop Waco's tallest building from my hotel room. I hope today's report wasn't too boring. More to come tomorrow.
