MY DAILY EMAIL SENT ON FEBRUARY 25, 2009
Greetings from Ushuaia,

It was a beautiful day here at the end of the world. I think I told you yesterday that Ushuaia is the southern most city on the planet. We had bright sunshine all day long today and for the first time in almost a week I got to walk on dry land.

This morning I took a scenic mountain drive into the Andes Mountains. It was a very scenic drive on a crystal clear and sunny day. When I got back to Ushuaia I had time for a quick walk around the city center before my afternoon wildlife cruise on the Beagle Channel. We saw lots of birds and sea lions. Most of the birds looked like penguins but they weren't. These birds could fly.

Got back to the shore just in time to hop on the ship and sail away. Well, at least we are supposed to be sailing away. Yesterday when we arrived at 8:00pm we could not dock because a Carnival ship was in our berth. It was supposed to have left hours earlier but could not because the strong wind had pinned the ship to the dock. We are experiencing the same problem today. It's a fast sail to our next port, so we need to leave. Hopefully we get out soon.

Ushuaia, Argentina

I attached a picture of me in the Andes Mountains this morning. I am bringing home the souvenir I am holding.

More tomorrow,

Tim
