Hello folks,
It was a very hot day in Kuala Lumpur today. And of all things I seem to have caught a cold. The first thing I did was walk over to the Petronis Towers from my hotel. Below is a picture of my hotel, the Grand Hyatt. It is the square building in the middle of the picture. Also in the picture are the dancing fountains which are in front of the Petronis Towers.
It was nice and clear this morning as you can see in the picture below of the iconic Petronis Towers.
I went and got my ticket to go up the tower. My departure time wasn't until noon, so I had time to have lunch at the mall which is built around the base of the towers. The first place we stopped on the tour of the building was the skybridge between the buildings. I believe it was on the 41st floor.
The picture below was taken from the Skybridge. I like the picture because you can see the shadow of both towers and the skybridge on the ground.
The next stop was the 86th floor. The towers are 88 floors high but the observation deck is on the 86th. There is a nice view from the top. The tower behind the Petronis building in the picture below is the KL tower. I'll go up that tower later in the day.
Below is another picture from the top of the towers. You can see the rolling hills of Malaysia behind the city.
After I got back down to ground level I walked out the other side of the building, which is actually the front side. I looked up at these impressive buildings.
Next I took a ride around the city on another open top bus. This was not a whole lot of fun. We spent most of the time stuck in traffic. I got off at the KL tower seen in one of the pictures above. It was now late afternoon and the skies had clouded over. The Petronis Towers were packed with visitors, but there were very few people at the KL Tower. Below is a picture from the top of the tower.
As I was walking away from the KL Tower there were monkeys everywhere. Below are three monkeys, one of them a little baby. The baby is bright orange.
Went back to the hotel next and ventured back out after dark to watch the dancing fountains in front of the Petronis Towers.
That's it for today.
