TUESDAY, JUNE 29, 2021:

Today I drove 378 miles traveling from Mooresville, Indiana to Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Today I resumed my Michigan road trip after a twenty day delay.
I traveled through northwest Indiana making stops in
Crown Point, Valparaiso, Indiana Dunes Natioanl Park and Gary.
It was then a soggy ride through Chicago and up to Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
It's all captured in the video below.

Below is a 66 minute video of my journey to Milwaukee.

MY DAILY EMAIL SENT ON JUNE 29, 2021
Hello folks,

I continued with my Michigan road trip today after having to return home for three weeks to get my scooter fixed. Despite the total incompetents' of Golden, the scooter's manufacturer, I have a brand new scooter. I hope this one works better than the first one.

I set out very early this morning and got to my first stop of the day in Crown Point, Indiana around sunrise. Crown Point is the county seat of Lake County. The picture below is the Old Lake County Court House on the town square in downtown Crown Point.

Next I drove twenty miles east to Valparaiso, Indiana. Below is the Porter County Court House on the town square in downtown Valparaiso.

One block from the court house is Central Park Plaza.

A statue of a famous local citizen is located on the plaza. Can you recognize who this is? It is the famous popcorn mogul, Orville Redenbacher.

Next it was a short drive north to Indiana's only national park, Indiana Dunes National Park. I had to snap my picture of Lake Michigan quick before the skies opened up.

It stopped raining for a short while about fifteen miles west of here in Gary, Indiana. The picture below is Gary City Hall.

I made one other stop in Gary at the Jackson's family home located at 2300 Jackson Street. This is where Michael Jackson was born.

This tiny abode which the Jacksons purchased in 1950 for $8,500 has only 672 square feet of living space, with two bedrooms and one bathroom. When you consider that at one point in time all eleven members of the Jackson family – Joe, Katherine, Michael, Rebbie, Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, LaToya, Marlon, Janet, and Randy – lived there, it is almost unbelievable. Michael once said, "You could take five steps from the front door and you'd be out the back".

After I finished at the Jackson home I made my way out of the depressing city of Gary. The rain continued to fall as I made my way through downtown Chicago.

Ninty minutes later as I was arriving in Milwaukee the rain was still falling.

It stopped raining after I parked the car in downtown Milwaukee so I fired up the new scooter and cruised along the shore of Lake Michigan.

It was a nice stroll along Lake Michigan on the Oak Leaf Trail.

The impressive Milwaukee Art Museum is seen below in the merging of two of my pictures.

This stroll wasn't one of my brighter ideas. Below is a picture of Lake Michigan just before the skies opened up. There was no shelter anywhere. I got drenched.

Below you can see me arriving at my Courtyard by Marriott Hotel near the airport.

I sloshed my to the front desk to checkin. I spent the afternoon drying out, writing emails and listening the the Reds game on SiriusXM.

Later I retrieved my dinner from a nearby Denny's.

I had the chicken fried steak. Today's adventures were a little lacking due to the weather. I had a lot more planned for Milwaukee but mother nature had to put in her two cents.

Hoping for better weather tomorrow,

Tim
