TUESDAY, JUNE 8, 2021:

Today I drove 160 miles traveling from Lansing, Michigan to Grand Haven, Michigan.

Tuesday's weather wasn't bad. Some fog, some clouds, a little rain and a good bit of sunshine.
Watch the video below if you want to see the details.

FALLASBURG, GRAND RAPIDS, HOLLAND & GRAND HAVEN
This 30 minute video covers everything I did today.

MY DAILY EMAIL SENT ON JUNE 8, 2021
Hello,

The day started off with me leaving my downtown hotel in Lansing. Weather wasn't bad when I left but the forecast was for scattered showers throughout the day. My first stop was about sixty miles west at the Fallasburg Covered Bridge. It was a cute little bridge but hard to see through the fog.

Twenty miles west of the bridge lies the city of Grand Rapids. I had planned a stroll along the riverwalk here but it looked like I might get caught in the rain so I skipped it. I also wanted to visit President Ford's Library, but it was closed due to Covid. Couldn't even get onto the grounds as it was all blocked off. So I snapped a picture from a downtown bridge of the Grand River and moved on my way.

My next stop was in Holland, Michigan. This town is pretty in spring when the tulips are in bloom. We had a sunny spell when I was out at the Big Red Lighthouse.

I also made a quick stop at Centennial Park in Holland.

I was going to go through Windmill Gardens next but it looked old and rundown and not very eye appealing, so I left. I drove thirty miles north to Grand Haven. The picture below is the Grand River emptying into Lake Michigan. As you can see in the picture below weather had deteriorated.

But by the time I got around to the other side it was sunny again. I scootered out the long pier to the South Pierhead Lighthouse.

I am spending the night here in Grand Haven. For the first time in my life I am staying at a bed and breakfast. It is a very nice place with an accomodating hostess.

I have a nice room with a fireplace, not that I need that. There are french doors that open up to the front porch. It's a very nice little place except the wifi is as slow as molasses.

Below is the front porch outside my room.

Unfortunately I was in no mood to enjoy my visit. I bought a new mobility scooter to get me around during my travels. Unfortunately it is having major mechanical issues. I am going to have to return home and get that fixed before continuing with the trip. I ate dinner from my cooler again tonight and prepared for my unexpected journey home.

Pissed off in Michigan,

Tim
