SUNDAY, JUNE 6, 2021:

Today I drove 145 miles traveling from Toledo, Ohio to Port Huron, Michigan.

First thing this morning I drove 78 miles to Detroit, Michigan.
It was a beautiful Sunday morning for my visit to the Motor City.
Watch the video below to check out my adventures in Detroit.

Next it was a 58 mile drive up Interstate 94 to Port Huron, Michigan.
I found the riverwalk here to be spectacular, and the weather was perfect.

MY DAILY EMAIL SENT ON JUNE 6, 2021
Hello,

It was another beautiful day today. The first thing I did was drive about 80 miles to Detroit. The first place I went was Belle Isle.

I got on the island but I couldn't do anything because they were setting up for the Grand Prix race next weekend. After making one lap of the island I left and headed into downtown Detroit.

Now it was time for a nice pleasant stroll along the Detroit Riverwalk.

The Ambassador Bridge is a tolled suspension bridge across the Detroit River that connects Detroit, Michigan in the United States with Windsor, Ontario in Canada.

I scootered along the Detroit River past the Renaissance Center and into downtown. I made my way up Woodward Avenue into Campus Martius Park.

I was going to visit Cadillac Square, but it was fenced off and closed. I made my way over to the Wayne County Building.

Looking the other direction from the site above is a picture of some Detroit architecture. I like the flatiron type building.

I made my way back to the Riverwalk passing through the Spirit of Detroit Plaza on the way.

Across from the plaza is the Monument to Joe Louis.

Looking the other direction from here you get a nice view of the Renaissance Center.

When I got back to the Riverwalk I headed up to the Milliken State Park Lighthouse. I like this photo, you can see Windsor, Ontario, Canada on the other side of the river.

Also from here you get a nice scenic shot of the Detroit skyline.

On my way out of town I made a quick stop at the Windmill Point Lighthouse on the Detroit River. The lighthouse was built in 1933 and is located in Mariner Park.

Again it was perfect weather this morning in Detroit. Next I drove sixty miles to Port Huron.

I took a nice long stroll along the St. Clair River.

This is the Blue Water Bridge. It connects the USA with Canada on the right. This is the mouth of the St. Clair River. Lake Huron is on the other side of the bridge. That is a statue of Thomas Edison in front of the bridge.

Lots of large ships made their way down the river into Lake Huron.

You can find the Port Gratiot Lighthouse not far from here.

Next I checked into the Doubletree Hotel nicely located near the bridge. You can actually see this hotel three pictures up too.

I have a nice corner room on the top floor. I have two balconies with spectacular views. The picture below was taken from one of them.

Below is a snapshot of my very comfortable room here at the Doubletree.

This evening I went out and retrieved my dinner from the local Texas Roadhouse.

I ate some of my dinner on the balcony as I watched the sun set. The picture below isn't bad since it was taken without a tripod.

That's it for today.
