Oscar and Felix! The cutest kittens in America!

On July 14, 1997 our family grew by two when we acquired two
adorable six week old kittens. We named them Oscar and Felix.
Typical brothers, they love to play and fight with each other.
They are very affectionate and a joy to watch.

The above pictures were taken in July 1997 when they were about two months old.

The above pictures were taken in August 1997 when they were about three months old.

Kit passed away in December 2005 at the age of 18 years old.

Murray - May 23, 1999
This is the newest member of the household.
His name is Murray, he is an eight-week-old kitten
who joined our family on Saturday, May 22, 1999.

2 minute video of Murray's arrival.

Oscar & Felix pretty much turned into lazy lumps when they
outgrew their playful kitten stage. But Murray remained full
of personality and playfulness into his old age. The photo below
was taken in my front yard in October 2007. He liked to sit in
the front yard and guard the property and watch the people go by.

In the summer of 2002 a couple of stray cats gave birth to
a couple of litters of kittens in our back yard.

There were three more litters of cats born in our back yard in 2003.
The first litter was to the same mama as the first litter in 2002.

The Calico kitten from litter #1 gave birth on April 28, 2003.

In the fall of 2003 all our outside strays moved on to other places.
All except the guy pictured below. We named him Rascal.
He was part of the first litter of kittens born in 2002.
He disappeared in February 2009. We miss him!

MURRAY
April 1999 - October 2017

On October 16, 2017 Murray passed away. He was almost 19 years old.
We were heart-broken. While we loved all the cats, Murray was very special.
He acted more like a dog than a cat. We will miss him immensely.

We had an empty nest for two weeks.
I saw a post on our neighborhood's web site about a lady needing a new home for her two cats.
I had not planned on getting more cats but the timing of this I couldn't ignore.
So on October 30, 2017 we took these two cats into our home.
The first cat is an 18-month-old male. We named him Freddy.

It only took him a few minutes to get used to his new home.
He loves to play. His favorite place is the entry hall where he can run up and down the stairs.

The other cat is a chubby two-year-old female.
She had a harder time adjusting to her new home.
For the first few days she mostly hid under the furniture.
She would growl and hiss if you came within ten feet of her.
Below is a picture of her on her second day with us.
You can see that she is giving me the evil eye and wanting me to stay away.

We named her Snagglepuss due to her disagreeable attitude.
But after a few days she warmed up to us and she now enjoys her new home.
We now call her Snags for short.

They have taken over the guest room as their own.

The pool table is now a large cat bed. At least it's getting used for something.
Nobody has played pool on it for years.

One minute they are fighting and chasing each other around the house.

And then the next minute they are best buds.

Freddy likes to sit with me and take a nap.

They like to come visit me in my den.
Freddy loves sitting behind me on the back of my desk chair.

They sit with me at my desk while I'm working on the computer.

Freddy demanding attention in front of my computer screen.

Snags sits on my mouse making it hard to work.

Then in early afternoon they switch to the other side of the room to catch the sunlight.

Freddy likes to stretch out behind the marble elephant I bought in India.
