Bonjour,
Yesterday I got a late start and then drove 240 miles from Grand Falls, New Brunswick to Quebec, Quebec. It was a relatively nice day but quite cold. It was about 40 degrees when I woke up. The reason for my late start was that it was quite foggy early and I waited for it to lift. Other than the drive I didn't do a darn thing yesterday. I stopped for gas and there was a PFK next door.
I'm staying on the west side of Quebec. Below is the view from my hotel window.
Last evening I learned that they shipped my fixed laptop computer back to the hotel in New Hampshire. It's nice to know that complete strangers now have custody of my extremely expensive computer. The Dell folks are complete idiots. I just got an email from them stating that FedEx will pick up the computer in New Hampshire on Monday and ship it back to Dell and then Dell will ship it back to the "hotel." Yep, that's what it said. I've been exchanging hostile emails with them all day complaining about them not shipping the computer to my home and their solution is to send it back to the hotel where it is now. I feel like I am in the middle of an Abbott and Costello routine. Who knows if I will ever see it again.
Today was a beautiful day in Quebec. Not a cloud in the sky and warmer temps near 70 degrees. Today I visited Montmorency Falls. The first thing I did was ride the cable car to the top of the falls.
I was here over twenty five years ago. The cable car wasn't here then. When you get on top there is Manor Montmorency.
It's very pretty up there. You walk along the edge of the cliff on a boardwalk to the foot bridge which spans the falls.
On the other side of the bridge there was some pretty fall foliage.
You get a nice view of the Saint Lawrence Seaway from the bridge. It was looking into the sun though.
Below you can see the foot bridge from the top of the falls.
I then rode the cable car back down. You can actually walk down the other side instead of taking the cable car. I would have rather done that but I didn't think my feet could take it. I would have also liked to have seen the other waterfalls in the area but too much walking was involved. I miss more stuff than I see because of my feet. Below is a picture of the falls from down below.
Tomorrow I get rid of the car and switch to the Chateau Frontenac in old town. I hope tomorrow is as nice as today was. That's it for today.
Au Revoir,
Tim
