JUNE 1984 We started off this short vacation with a one night stay in Chicago, Illionois. Before leaving town the next day, we took in the spectacular view from atop the Sear's Tower, America's tallest building. After leaving Chicago it was into Wisconsin. Our first stop was Madison, the state capitol. After Madison we continued across the rest of the state stopping in La Crosse for the night. Pictured above is the Mississippi River as seen from our hotel window. Towering 530 feet above La Crosse is Grandad Bluff. Pictured above is the panoramic view from the summit. It was on into Minnesota next. Pictured above is the Mississippi River as seen from a Red Wing, Minnesota bluff. We spent a couple nights in the Twin Cities. Pictured above is the majestic Cathedral of St. Paul. We stayed at the Hyatt Regency in Minneapolis, and this was the view from our hotel window. It was back across Wisconsin on our return home. We stopped for a boat tour at the Wisconsin Dells. The above aerial view of the Wisconsin Dells was taken from the top of the totem tower skyride. We spent the last night of our trip in Milwaukee. Pictured above are three seven-story domes which house tropical exhibits at Mitchell Park in Milwaukee.
