JUNE/JULY 1987 The first stop on our 1987 summer vacation was Cleveland, Ohio (pictured above). Next it was on to Niagara Falls. The above picture was taken from our hotel balcony at the Foxhead Sheraton in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Above are the Whirlpool Rapids in the Great Niagara Gorge. This panoramic shot was taken from the Panasonic Tower in Niagara Falls, Ontario. This shot of the American Falls at night was also taken from our hotel room balcony. The shot above was taken in nearby downtown Buffalo, New York. After a couple of days in Niagra Falls we headed north. Pictured above is my brother Dan standing in front of a scale model of the Eiffle Tower, just one of hundreds of world landmark replicas presented at Miniture World near Hamilton, Ontario. We spent the night in Toronto, Ontario. This night shot was taken from our hotel room looking out toward the CN Tower. Above are the 1000 Islands which are on the New York/Canadian border northeast of Lake Ontario. This picture was taken from the 400 foot tall observation tower. This photograph was taken at the summmit of the Whiteface Mountain Veteran's Memorial Highway near Lake Placid, New York. Above is High Falls Gorge, a deep ravine cut into the base of Whiteface Mountain by the Ausable River. Above is Lake Placid where we spent the night. Above is just three of the ten buildings that make up Governor Nelson A. Rockafeller Empire State Plaza in downtown Albany, New York. Next is was off to Washington D.C. where we spent several days. Pictured above is the White House, which was occupied by President Ronald Reagan. Pictured above is the Vietnam Veterans Memorial located on the mall near the Lincoln Memorial. Above is the Marine Corps War Memorial in Arlington, Virginia. We spent a day in nearby Maryland. Pictured above is downtown Baltimore. Above is the Maryland State Capitol in Annapolis. We were in Washington on the Fourth of July. Pictured above are the fireworks around the Washington Monument. After Washington we headed for home. Spending a night in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania enroute. We spent the final night of the trip in Columbus, Ohio. You can see more of Annapolis, Baltimore & Washington on my 2005 trip.
