I began my trip after I got off work on Monday,
February 27, 1995. I had a late afternoon flight
on American Airlines that got me into Las Vegas at
about 10:00pm after changing planes in Dallas.

I spent the first three nights of my trip at the
beautiful new Luxor hotel in Las Vegas.

It was a beautiful day on my first day in Las Vegas.
I decided to drive out to The Valley of Fire State
Park about 40 miles northeast of the city.

The next day was not quite as nice.
I dodged rain drops on my visit to Red Rock Canyon.

After three days in Las Vegas I drove to California.
I spent two nights at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim.

The weather was very poor during my stay in southern
California. It rained most of the time. I visited the
Richard Nixon Presidential Library while there.

On my way back to my hotel in Disneyland I drove

I spent one night in Palm Springs. It was a beautiful
morning when I rode on the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway.
It was warm down below, but they were shoveling snow at
the top of the mountain when we got off the tram.

After enjoying the view in Palm Springs it was time
for a long desert drive. I drove from Palm Springs
to Tucson, Arizona. The sun shined the whole way making
it a very enjoyable drive despite its long length of
over 350 miles. I arrived just after sunset in Tucson.

The above picture was taken from a hillside
looking out onto downtown Tucson.
While staying in Tucson I took an excursion down to
Tombstone, Arizona. I visited the OK Corral and other
historical attractions while there.

Above is Bisbee, Arizona located about 15 miles north
of the Mexican border. I made a brief visit here after
leaving Tombstone before heading back to Tucson.
The large cacti above are in Sabino Canyon near Tucson.
The picture above was taken at the Tucson Mountain
Park. Spectacularly beautiful southwest scenery.
Above is one of many buildings at Old Tucson Studios.
A replica of 1860s Tucson, erected in 1939 by Columbia
Pictures for the film "Arizona". Since then it as been
used for over 300 movies and television shows. I spent the
better part of a day there taking in the live gunfights,
stunt demonstartions, and western musical revues.
This pretty spot is part of the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum.

After a very enjoyable stay in Tucson it was time to
head back north. I spent one night in Phoenix enroute.

driving back to Las Vegas.
