SUNDAY, DECEMBER 24, 2006:
My departure from Indianapolis was delayed as my first flight was canceled due to mechanical problems.
My rerouted flight took me through Chicago and then into Las Vegas arriving shortly before midnight.
I checked into Harrah's Hotel on the Strip.
The strip was nicely decorated for Christmas.

MONDAY, DECEMBER 25, 2006:

I spent Christmas day wandering about the strip and doing a little gambling.
I didn't win anything but didn't lose much either.
It was a beautiful Christmas day in Las Vegas.
It was a lot more crowded than I expected it to be on Christmas.
This was my thirteenth visit to Las Vegas.

Hello Friends and Family, It's vacation time again. Things didn't get off to a real good start yesterday. Got to the airport early as I thought they may be busy since it was Christmas Eve. Turns out they weren't busy and I had close to three hours to kill before the flight. I spent that watching the Colts lose yet again. Finally 4:50 arrives and we leave the gate right on time. Then as we are beginning to take off the hydraulics in one of the engines fails and we have to abort and go back to the gate. After sitting on the plane for about an hour at the gate they decide it can't be fixed and they are going to bring another plane in to take us to Dallas in about three hours. After I get off the plane I check with the agent about my flight to Vegas. The best choice for me is an 8:00 flight to Chicago connecting to a 9:00 flight to Vegas. The flight to Chicago was pretty. We flew directly over downtown Chicago for a really nice view. The flight to Las Vegas was nice too as they gave me a free upgrade to first class. It was a very long day and I didn't get to my hotel, Harrahs, until 2:00am, which is 5:00am Indiana time. Below is the Bellagio. I saw a Christmas fountain show there tonight. Today went much better than yesterday. It was a beautiful Christmas Day in Las Vegas. Below is the Paris Hotel. I didn't think it would be that crowded here on Christmas Day. I was wrong. It was wall to wall people all day. The pictures below are New York, New York. I spent the day wandering up and down the strip and doing a little gambling. Below is the Luxor. I didn't win any money, but didn't lose too much either. Below is the Sahara. Below is the new Wynn Casino which was not here the last time I visited. Tomorrow I'm taking an air tour to the Grand Canyon and Monument Valley. The picture below is the Stardust hotel which will be demolished in 79 days. Will write more later, Tim |
