SATURDAY, APRIL 8, 2017:
Today I drove a total of 122 miles traveling from Yucca Valley, California to Big Bear Lake, California.
The highlight of my day was the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway.
I ended my day in Big Bear Lake, California.

Hello again folks, I hit the road about 9:00 this morning from Yucca Valley, California. It was about a half hour drive to Palm Springs. In Palm Springs I rode the tramway to the top of Mount San Jacinto.  The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway has the world's largest rotating tram car.  The tram travels two and a half miles through the Chino Canyon to the top of the mountain.  Below is the view from the top at an elevation of 8516 feet. It was very cold and windy up there. 37 degrees. You can see snow on the ground and hot Palm Springs down below.  After I came down from the mountain I took a drive down Palm Canyon Drive in Palm Springs.  About thirty minutes west of Palm Springs I stopped for lunch in Banning. From there I drove to Big Bear. My body doesn't know what climate to adjust to. I woke up in the hot desert and a short while later there was snow on the ground atop the mountain. Then it was on to hot Palm Springs and now there is snow on the ground again here in Big Bear, where I am spending the night.
