FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 6, 2013:
On Friday we followed the Gulf of Riga north into Estonia.
We arrived in Tallinn around noon and check into the Radisson Blu Hotel Olumpia.
All of the images below are thumbnails and can be clicked on for a larger image.
Friday afternoon our local guide took us on a tour of the city.
We stopped at the song festival grounds and on the shore of the Baltic Sea.
We took a walk through upper old town passing the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and the Dome Church.
We also admired the view of lower Old Town.
We walked down into Lower Old Town and passed the Town Hall Square.
I didn't get too many pictures because our awful local guide rushed us through everything.

Hello folks, Sorry I didn't write last night. I spent the evening praying to the porcelain goddess after being poisoned at yesterday's lunch. This morning it was a four and a half hour drive to Tallinn, Estonia. We checked into our hotel and then had a sightseeing tour of the city. The tour was absolutely identical to the tour I took from the cruise ship back in 2011. Below is a picture of the Baltic Sea. If you look close into the sun you can see the Tallinn skyline. Next we toured the old walled town. Below is the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. Below is a view of lower old town from upper old town. Tomorrow we are taking a ferry across the Baltic Sea back to Helsinki where this tour will end. I'm flying to Warsaw, Poland on Sunday for two days before returning home. I'm actually starting to get a little hungry. I think I will go down to dinner now. Tim |
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 7, 2013:
Late Saturday morning we sailed away from Tallinn on the Tallink Ferry.
This is my second visit to Tallinn. I was also here in 2011.
